Zuku Baskets

Bolga Baskets from Africa

Little girl in a natural color boga moses basket Unique. Handcrafted. Fair trade. These are just a few of the many colorful ways to describe Zuku Baskets. Zuku, located in the northern Bolgatanga region of Ghana, is one of several villages where basket-weaving is a long-held tradition passed down from generation to generation. Over three decades, we have cultivated relationships with thousands of weavers and it’s an honor to bring their craftsmanship to you. Each basket is a reflection of their remarkable artistry and cultural heritage.

Moses baskets, hand-woven, and baby bassinet-shaped, are one of our featured and most popular basket styles. Affectionately referred to as baby cots by Ghanaian locals, they provide the perfect nest for your newborn and are an ideal gift for expecting parents. We also offer a custom wooden stand that holds the Moses basket and can be rocked back and forth, a wonderful addition to any nursery.

Zuku will have several other basket styles available too, all of them exceptional in quality. Because every basket is handmade, from the moment the first blade of river grass is harvested until the last weave is finished, each basket is one-of-a-kind in its design.
